In 2024, according to the Office of The Company Registrar, Nepal has a total of 319,900 registered companies. Each year, the number of new company registration is growing quickly.
Interestingly, the combined authorized capital of these companies is approximately 800 times the country’s gross domestic product, which stands at 37.67 Kharba according to the Central Statistics Office.
Breaking it down by provinces, Bagmati leads with the highest number of registered companies, boasting 171,400.
Of the overall registered companies in Nepal, the majority, 309,649, are private limited, while 1,963 are public limited companies. Additionally, there are 2,947 non-profit companies and 320 foreign companies.
