The loan has a 3 percent interest rate. They are for aspiring entrepreneurs. The Ministry of Finance has simplified the startup loan process. This makes it easier for startups to access funding and expand.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Startups operating for less than 7 years qualify.
  • To be eligible, a startup must meet at least 5 out of 7 specific government criteria, including:
    • Paid-up capital: Not exceeding 50 lakhs rupees.
    • Total income: Not exceeding 50 lakhs rupees per year.
    • Fixed capital (excluding fixed assets): Not exceeding 20 lakhs rupees.
    • Number of full-time employees: Not exceeding ten.
  • At least two of the above four criteria must be met.

Startups in 14 sectors are eligible:

  • Agriculture
  • Tourism and Hospitality
  • Production and distribution of alternative energy
  • Science, information technology, and communication
  • Health services
  • Education and training (excluding language learning, including consultants, tuition centers, coaching classes)
  • Household
  • Environmental protection and waste management
  • Transport services
  • Disaster risk reduction and management
  • Infrastructure construction
  • Automobiles
  • Mining
  • Mineral research and development

Loan Service Fee and Repayment

A 0.1% loan service fee is charged by the lending bank during loan disbursement.
